She began her career as the Head of Consultation Liaison (CL) Psychiatry at Surrey Memorial Hospital where she concentrated on establishing a flourishing and highly collaborative CL service which provides psychiatric care for patients on surgical and medical wards, including the palliative care and oncology units. She also received an Facilities Engagement grant to develop guidelines for the management of vulnerable patients in hospital.

She is also the provincial practice Director for Psychiatry within BC Cancer, Clinical Associate professor at UBC and the past president of the BC Psychiatric Association.
